Advocates for the advancement of green consumerism and green productivity will gather on July 23 to 25 for the Kalikasan GP3 Expo Conference at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier in Taguig City.
Kalikasan GP3 Expo Conference will feature a cultural trade exhibition that highlights cultural exchanges, provision of green products and services, innovative technologies, and various sustainable activities to be conducted by participating organizations and agencies from the private and public sectors.
The conference aims to provide a venue for information exchange among stakeholders and to collate initiatives of environmental actions that address climate change in the country as the Philippines has been identified by the World Wildlife Foundation as one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change.
The public is invited to engage in various activities and contests directed towards the promotion of green business, green industries and eco consciousness.
An on-the-spot Culinary Olympics, “A Taste of the Blended Filipino Culture,” sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), aims to highlight the Filipino cuisine as an important cultural heritage and critical agent in shaping the Filipino way of consumption and living. It seeks to advance consumerism sustainability through green production, green market and sustainable innovations in Filipino dining.
There will also be a photo contest dubbed “Capturing and Embracing Green Consumerism” that aims to raise awareness on environment and conservation issues through the arts.
The Pinas Greencentrics Technology Invention Contest will run until July 23. It promotes the development of green technologies for Filipino businesses and consumers.
Spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Inc., Kalikasan GP3 aspires to work with partner institutions towards the promotion of sustainable consumption, production and cultural heritage preservation.
Aside from the said activities, a memorandum of cooperation to address climate change issues in the Philippines was signed by participating agencies, non-government organizations and local government units during the launch of the Kalikasan GP3 Expo last April 24.
