Some of the country’s most talented performers in English musical theater are taking center stage via the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Triple Threats series, this time focusing on The Ensemble.
Triple Threats is a series of concept concerts, happening three at a time, which in the past has done a series on Leading Men and Women of Philippine musical Theater. This time, it puts The Ensemble in the spotlight in three concerts, starting off with The Ensemble for
English musical theater, “Breaking the Fourth Wall.”
The one-night concert features Chinie Concepcion, Maronne Cruz, Steven Hotchkiss, Vince Lim, Kyla Rivera, George Schulze, Abi Sulit, and Nacho Tambunting, who are each given the opportunity to shine as individual artists on the CCP stage. Performing well-loved songs from Broadway and West End productions, “Breaking the Fourth Wall” promises a showcase of this ensemble’s talents like no other.
“Breaking the Fourth Wall” is staged on August 18, 7:30 p.m., at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. It is directed by Liesl Batucan, with musical direction by Ejay Yatco, lighting design by Katsch Catoy, sound design and engineering by TJ Ramos, and set design by Eric Cruz.
Special guests are Carla Guevara Laforteza, Shiela Valderrama Martinez, Jay Valencia Glorioso, Sweet Plantado Tiongson, Lani Mabilangan Ligot, Lorenz Martinez, Joaquin Pedro Valdes, and Audie Gemora.
