The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Philippine government’s overall grants-giving, policy formulating and implementing body for the promotion, development and preservation of Filipino art and culture, paves the way for the 2015 celebration of the National Arts Month (NAM) aptly called Philippine Arts Festival (PAF) this coming February 2015.

NCCA opens its doors to Filipino creative ideas as it calls on proposals for projects that will highlight the Filipino’s brilliance in the seven arts. Through the flagship programs of the different committees under its Subcommission on the Arts (SCA), the NCCA aims to bring to the different areas of the country the Filipino prowess in the seven arts – music, dance, theatre, cinema, literature, architecture and visual arts.

“Art on the Edge” was the theme of last year’s Philippine Arts Festival, conducted in celebration of the 2014 NAM, which focused on advancement of the different art forms through the flagship programs of the seven national committees of the SCA.

Twenty slots of P100,000 grants each are opened to local government units, educational institutions and art organizations who wish to partake in this year’s celebration through localized programs in their respective communities. Acclaimed productions with innovative features and significant themes that deepen our appreciation of Filipino culture and the arts and projects that feature indigenous and creative industries are encouraged to apply.

Deadline of submission is on January 5, 2015. For inquiries, call National Arts Month Secretariat at 527-21-92 local 302 or log on to www.ncca.gov.ph.
