Two years after college, Jungie Gumiran was let go from his first job in a digital marketing agency.
“I remember my boss told me that I was not good enough. I simply did not have a chance to adapt from traditional to digital marketing. I didn’t know how to code, read data, set-up integrations, and [use] online tools.”
Despite it being an unfortunate incident, it was this experience that helped Jungie discover freelancing. He had a slow start and recalled, “Back then, I had an unstable freelance business and was only handling a couple of clients at a small fee with little to no results.”
However, what changed for him was when he decided to invest in himself “by taking high level training abroad and applying these learnings to [his] clients’ businesses.

“It really changed my life as a freelancer. I went from being a struggling Facebook ads freelancer to managing the social advertising campaigns of multi-million businesses both here and abroad.”
Jungie then applied what he knew and shared it with other freelancers.
“I knew that by teaching everything I know in Facebook Advertising, I can change the lives of many freelance digital marketers who wanted to give results to their clients and at the same time, be able to charge premium fees for the results they provide. This is also for entrepreneurs who are struggling in generating leads for their businesses like financial advisors, real estate agents, and online sellers who wish to get more sales.”
This then turned into a deeper cause for Jungie when the pandemic hit.
“I saw many entrepreneurs struggling, some were left with no choice but to cut employees, while others paused operations, and even worse, permanently closed.
“Being an entrepreneur myself, I know how mentally depressing and challenging it is to stay afloat. A lot of fellow kababayans also reached out to me to learn more about freelancing after they were let go from their jobs. That’s when I started doing free webinars for freelancers and business owners who had a desire to adapt to the new normal.”
Now the owner of Social Advertising Agency Notif Digital, Jungie shares his knowledge monthly for free to teach business owners and freelancers about Facebook ads — how it can be used to get more sales and how to offer it as a service.
Today, Jungie not only runs a successful business but also coaches thousands of local freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized enterprises on how to leverage the power of social media advertising to promote their products and services online.
When asked about what his advice is for those going through a difficult season, he says, “Rather than focusing on the negativity around us and the fear of uncertainties, perhaps we all need to take time to be grateful for what we have gained after being forced to slow down and spend time with those who are most important to us. New learnings. New business ideas.
“Let’s be grateful for the new world we have discovered as a part of quarantine or working from home.”
