From timeless furniture pieces to remarkable art displays, the accents and small details that go into a home can add a touch of sophistication and refinement. But to achieve that, one does not need to have the rarest or most valuable heirloom. One simply needs to find the right items that will not only beautify the home, but can also spark emotions and reflect its dweller’s distinctive personality.

An excellent place to start is at Palacio de Memoria’s auction house, Casa de Memoria, which is all set to welcome bidders for its first auction of the year, “Primero.”

Happening on March 20, 2 p.m., Primero will feature a specially curated selection of Asian and European antiquities and objets d’art that will add a touch of worldly affluence to the homes of culture enthusiasts and art aficionados. After all, a room’s design can be elevated with at least one statement piece.

For furniture, it is best to invest in quality pieces that offer comfort and style such as the 19th century Italian paper desk in ebonized wood with ivory and bone inlay (Lot 10) and the Napoleon 3 style mahogany sideboard with green marble top (Lot 35).

Aside from furniture, Primero offers various classic masterpieces that can breathe life to any home. The auction has paintings like “Confesiones del Eco” by Manuel Viola (Lot 83) and “Planting Rice” by Victor Loyola (Lot 156); lithographs like “Woman with Vase of Flowers” by Romeo Tabuena (Lot 65) and “Joueur de flute et chevre” by Pablo Picasso (Lot 99); and tapestries like the 17th to 18th century tapestry depicting a nobleman approaching a mother and child (Lot 62).

Casa de Memoria also takes pride in its collection of religious iconographies. Several ecclesiastical pieces will be up for bidding at the auction, including a Mexican oil on copper painting depicting the Holy Trinity (Lot 124), a Santo Niño wooden relief (Lot 147), a Spanish oil on board depicting the Assumption of the Virgin (Lot 179), and an Indo-Portuguese Cristo Moribundo carved in ivory (Lot 200).

Aside from these, more rare antiques, decorative art pieces, and collectibles, such as porcelain vases and tableware, bronze sculptures, crystal centerpieces, historical period pieces, lamps and chandeliers, carpets and mirrors will go under the hammer at the Primero auction.

For better appreciation, interested bidders may visit Casa de Memoria at Palacio de Memoria 95 Roxas Blvd., Tambo, Parañaque until March 19 for the auction viewing. Strict safety protocols are in place at the venue.

After the auction viewing, guests may also indulge in a delightfully gastronomic experience as they dine at Palacio de Memoria’s newest amenity – The Loggia by Margarita Forés.
