Barely a week since the government placed the whole of Luzon on enhanced community quarantine to combat the rise of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the country, utility providers trended online as Filipinos thanked them for their quick response in extending bills payment.

The Sunday Times Magazine joins the nation in cheering for the following companies who have made an effort to lessen public worry during this unprecedented and very uncertain times.
Cignal TV. “We realize how important it is for you and your families to stay informed and be entertained, especially during these difficult times. All Cignal Postpaid subscribers will be given a 30-day Payment Extension from your due date. We hope this allows you to continue to #liveawesome while at home.”
Sky Cable. “To our valued Sky Kapamilya, we support the need for the public to stay at home at this time of community quarantine. We also understand your need to have an uninterrupted experience of your Skycable and internet service. For this reason, we are extending your bill payment period by another 30 days.”
Meanwhile, major telecommunications companies have also put in place a 30-day payment extension period for the postpaid customers.
Globe Telecom. “Globe is one with the entire country in these trying times. To help you remain connected with your loved ones, we are giving all Globe Postpaid (mobile and broadband), including business and enterprise customers nationwide, a 30-day bill payment extension from you due date.
“Now more than ever, we understand your need to stay safe at home. Customers may also download and use the GlobeOne app and Globe At Home app to track your data usage, subscribe to promos and pay your bill. Using these app is free of charge.”
Smart Communications and PLDT. “We know how important it is for you and your family to stay connected during these difficult times of the Covid-19 outbreak. So, we’ve put in place a 30-day payment extension period for all our postpaid customers of PLDT Home, PLDT Enterprise, Smart and Sun Postpaid. We hope this enables you to work and study from home and get the latest information that will help you take the right actions in caring for the health and wellness of your loved ones.”
Meralco. “Meralco is one with the country in its efforts to contain Covid-19. Stay safe and health; stay home. Thus, for all Meralco bills due from March 1 to April 14, 2020, we are providing a 30-day payment extension from your due date. We have also postponed maintenance activities, unless necessary, to ensure continuous electricity service. Customers may use Meralco Online, Meralco App and our partner online portals to pay their bills.”
Maynilad. “Bilang bahagi ng aming patuloy na pagsuporta sa kasalukuyang enhanced quarantine sa Luzon, magpapatupad po kami ng 30-day payment extension para sa water bills na ang due date ay pasok sa quarantine period (mula Marso 15 hanggang Abril 12, 2020). Ang nasabing 30-day extension ay dagdag sa normal na 60-day grace period bago makatanggap ang customers ng Disconnection Notice. Karagdagan po ito sa nauna naming inanunsyo na suspension ng disconnection sa mga overdue account hanggang sa pagtatapos ng quarantine period sa Abril 14, 2020.
“Samantala, bagamat patuloy ang trabaho ng aming operations personnel para masiguro ng maayos na serbisyo patubig, mayroon na kaming precautionary measures na ginawa para masiguro ang kanilang kaligtasan ngayong panahon na iniiwasan ang pagkalat ng Covid-19. Maraming salamat at mag-ingat po tayong lahat.”
Manila Water. “Manila Water announced that it is extending the due date of payment of customers’ water bills for 30 days. This is in response to the month-long enhanced community quarantine imposed on the entire Luzon. The extension will apply to water bills whose due dates will fall within the quarantine period.”
