It’s been five years since a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the province of Bohol and left thousands of families homeless and grieving for the loss of lives of their kin and friends.

For the first time, 40 families celebrated a blissful Christmas in new homes built by Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. (SCPA) with Habitat for Humanity Philippines (Habitat Philippines) under their “ReBuild Bohol Project” partnership to rehabilitate affected communities. SCPA funneled P1 million to the said project with the hope of providing more than just shelter, but to build hope and rebuild lives.

SCPA is a Filipino-run company that has always dedicated its service to fellow Filipinos. In 2016, the company marked its 20th anniversary and felt that donating to Habitat Philippines was the best way to celebrate it. The project initially committed to construct 20 houses in the calamity-stricken area. This act of generosity inspired renowned business executive Herbert Sy to donate another P1 million, thereby doubling the project’s targets.
