More than 1,200 hectares comprise the Carmen Copper property and only less than a third is utilized for mining.
“What we have is great value of real estate. We have commissioned a study to look into a land use plan. We are committed to the people of Toledo. As such, we are determined to help create shared value for all, not only through Carmen Copper’s mining activities,” Deveraturda disclosed to The Sunday Times Magazine.

There are multiple possibilities. But one that catches Deveraturda’s eye is the idea of developing a univeristy town.

“I believe that education is the greatest equalizer. With so much young people today, we can bring back the love for engineering, science and mathematics. An idea of a university town excites me,” Deveraturda exclaimed. “As a stickler fo discipline and excellence, molding young leaders would bring lasting shared value not only for the people of Toledo and Cebu, but even for other parts of the country.”
