The long wait is over for actor Dingdong Dantes whose hard work has finally paid off when he marched along with the graduating batch of West Negros University in Bacolod City on March 23 to secure his college diploma.

Now armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Major in Marketing, the 33-year-old celebrity bachelor has fulfilled his long-time dream of completing his education despite choosing to pursue a career in show business early in his teens.

Despite his busy schedule as a GMA Network talent, a movie actor, and more recently as film producer, Dantes still made time to earn the required units for his course even if he had to do so over a lengthy several years.

“You just really need to manage your time well,” said the new graduate when asked how he accomplished his latest feat.

“When you’re given assignments [at work], you need to learn how to make sacrifices, strike a balance and realize what you need to prioritize.

“Education is the solution,” declared the popular youth advocate. “It is not enough to know what your goal is; you must know how to chase it—and chase it real damn well.”

Dantes also received a special citation as the 2014 batch’s Ambassador of Goodwill.

The momentous event for the actor was witnessed by his parents Sixto and Ma. Angelita Dantes; his uncles Col. Edgar Dantes and Commodore Herby Escutin; his best friend Harvey Camposano; and his girlfriend, top actress Marian Rivera.

Following his graduation, the actor plans to pursue a project dubbed “One Chair, One Child” for his Yes Pinoy Foundation and Lifeline Foundation Support Team Inc., which aims to provide chairs for the students of a school in Iloilo City that was badly affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2014.
