Baguio’s Andrea Fe Gomez bested 25 equally stunning beauties from around the Philippines to win this year’s Miss Silka Philippines 2017 crown.
The 19-year-old was the epitome of beauty and brains during the nationwide pageant’s coronation night at Market, Market in Taguig City. In fact, her grace while wearing her bright yellow evening gown won her Best in Evening Wear.

But it answer in the dreaded Q&A portions of every pageant sealed the crown for the fourth-year psychology major.
Asked for the biggest change social media has brought into people’s lives, Gomez confidently answered that while social media has made people feel closer, it also alienated human’s close relationships.
“We need to change that. We should put our phones down and we should know when to check for our statuses, when to look at our feeds, and when to bond with the people around us,” part of Gomez’s answer revealed.
By the end of the night the judges—comprised of actors Empoy Marquez and Gil Cuerva, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson, stylist Ica Villanueva, and Silka Marketing Manager Jane Co—hailed Gomez the winner.
Also included in the winning circle were 1st runner-up Ashanti Shaine Ervas of Quezon, 2nd runner-up Nicole Borromeo of Cebu, and 3rd runner-up Nikita Pearl Teichmuller of Cagayan Valley.
As the titlist for this year, Gomez took home P150,000 cash prize as well as P100,000 donation fund for her chosen charity, Helping Hands, Healing Hearts—which provides medical aid to children and their families.
