Many Filipino men shy away from the topic about virility. They may love to laugh about machismo matters but seldom talk out loud seriously when it comes to male dominance.
At 70, veteran broadcast journalist Jimmy Gil bravely brings to fore a topic that may be uncomfortable for many, but definitely worth everyone’s attention.
Gil did not expect to father a child at this stage. He already has five grown-ups from his first marriage. When his first wife passed away and he remarried, the topic of having kids was never discussed. To his surprise, however, he now has a healthy nine-month-old baby girl named Anna Cristina.
“It’s unexpected, but it’s a welcome surprise, she’s a welcome surprise. Half of it is divine intervention, the other half is a supplement called Enduranz Capsule for Men,” confessed the host of radio program “Jimmy Gil Live,” which airs on dzBB, Mondays to Fridays, from 8 to 9 pm.
Jimmy’s youngest daughter took seven years in the making.
“To be honest, it wasn’t on the agenda. My attitude toward food supplements was it helps me keep my overall health, not necessarily along the line of baby production,” he said.
The real reason Jimmy started taking the food supplement was because he got easily tired, sluggish, lethargic – signs of aging. A good friend of his recommended the booster.
The outcome was just great, Gil noted. Besides a beautiful baby, he also lost weight and felt more energetic.
“We are equally happy for Jimmy’s beautiful blessing and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board to talk about his personal experience,” Natural Quality Corporation regulatory pharmacist Jerome Filler said.
According to Filler, the men’s supplement has helped countless other couples who have had difficulty starting a family or having another child.
As for having a baby at his age, Jimmy realized that he can still play the role of a doting father.
“I feel I am more knowledgeable now when it comes to the baby. I’d know why she’s crying, whether it’s because she’s hungry or she needs a diaper change. And diaper changing is so easy [compared to my first stint as a father],” he concluded.
