Young creative couple Soleil Ignacio and Kris Abrigo collaborate for exclusive collection
While their styles as well as their chosen media differ, visual artists Soleil Ignacio and Kris Abrigo complement each other. This became more evident as the young creative couple collaborated with lifestyle hub Habitat for an exclusive exhibit and collection.
Dubbed as “Habitat&,” the exhibit is composed of illustrative prints, paintings and quirky art toys set in a micro studio vignette. It further highlights the couple’s differing styles: hand-made paintings are hung alongside digital prints with bright pastels against cozy, muted colors. Ignacio’s relaxed, organic, and laid-back elegance is a response to Abrigo’ sharp geometric lines and hard urban aesthetic.
Balance is achieved by complementing calm contrasts between each of their unique personality and style of work. As it was revealed, the inspiration for the curated space came from the couple’s experiences in living and working together in a small art studio for 4 years in a crowded city in Manila. They mix and match artworks and furniture; the softness and warmth of plants combined with hard and quirky concrete sculptures.
The exhibit is the first under the Habitat& design collaborations program and for the lifestyle hub, it would not be the last.
“We are delighted that Soleil and Kris are sharing a part of their personal story through this beautiful collection.
We look forward to having more collaborations with original minds in the future,” Habitat director Walter Lim
shared.
Ignacio and Abrigo’s art pieces will be available exclusively through Habitat Bonifacio Global City for the entire month of July.
